Slow down

Sofia turned 8 Months old last week and in the last 6 days she has been hitting milestones after milestones. She started crawling at exactly 8 months and 2 days later started sitting up on her own and then a day later she pulled herself up to stand in her crib! Slow down kiddo!! You are growing up way too fast for us to keep up.

Just look at this face. Doesn't she looks more like a little girl than a little baby?

Seriously kid, SLOW DOWN!

Four Years.

Yesterday, Zak & I celebrated our four year anniversary. It started with a gift, flowers and cake in bed at 12:30 am (thanks to Sofia). I had no idea when he slipped out of the house earlier in the evening to get the stuff he had been hiding. That sneaky fellow. He always has a surprise up his sleeve! One of the many many things i love about him. 


He took half the day off and we went to brunch at the Pancake pantry. After waiting in line for an hour, we couldn't wait to dive into our plates while some others couldn't wait any longer and dove right into the menu.

In the evening we headed out to Rumours East with our little sidekick and enjoyed a lovely meal (with a few interruptions of course). 

Four years together and now we are three. Life couldn't get any better.

I'm so thankful that I get to be your wife. You truly are the 'bestest'. Looking forward to many many more years together. Love you always and forever. Happy 4 years to us!

Little Mermaid

Sofia has always loved bath time so i was really looking forward to taking her to the pool. This 4th of July we finally packed up our towels, slathered on some sunscreen and hit the pool at our apartment complex. 

She loved it! She was like a little fish. As soon as we put her in the water she started kicking her legs excitedly. She had a blast and so did we!

All that splashing and kicking left my little fishy exhausted.

We all showered and napped when we got home and then got ready to go out to watch the fireworks in the evening.

Well, we watched the fireworks while Sofia snoozed away in her car seat. Maybe next year she will join in on the festivities.

Happy Half Birthday, Sweetie pie!

Its Sofia's Half Birthday!! Mama & Papa celebrated 6 Months of parenthood by going out for dinner and ice-cream while Sofia happily snoozed in her car seat.


I really can't believe that its been half a year since we met this sweet little girl of ours.

On Mother's day...

I want to thank you Sofia for making me a mother. Your mother. My life is fuller and brighter because of you. I love you, my baby girl.

Happy mother's day to mothers everywhere! Especially to my beautiful mom. Thank you for all that you have done for us. I love you too.

Saturday Brunch

It was a lazy Saturday morning, perfect day for brunch! :) We went to Marche in East Nashville. We loved it!

After brunch we decided to check out Shelby Bottoms park. It was our first time there. I don't know what took us two years to get there. The greenway was beautiful and was overlooking the Cumberland river. We couldn't spend enough time there since I wasn't wearing comfy shoes in spite of Zak insisting me to Sofia hadn't napped well but we are definitely going back there soon (with comfy shoes).

First family picnic

Last Saturday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we decided to have our very first picnic as a family. We packed some lunch and headed to Centennial Park to spend the afternoon. It was a lovely day. Sofia seems to agree.

Her tiny hands discovered grass for the very first time. She seemed intrigued and kept pulling out the grass with all her might. The girl was having fun!

After all that fun she was pooped and needed a nap (so did mama)!

We had a great day (minus the meltdown right before nap-time)! We are looking forward to lots of picnics this summer.

Welcome to my first blog ever! I've decided to start a blog, since life with Sofia is so interesting :) This blog is to mainly chronicle Sofia's life among other random things. Hopefully i will find enough time in between all the diapers, feedings and play time with the little lady. I think this would be a fun way for all of you to be connected to Sofia's life and also for me to document her early years for her to see one day.
